The University of La Verne welcomes applicants for the position of Residence Hall Trades Worker II in the Facilities Management department of the Facilities & Technology Services Division. Reporting directly to the Director of Physical Plant Operations and Services, this position will assist the Facilities Management Residence Hall Lead in performing various repairs throughout the university residence halls.

The specific duties of the position include performing various types of repairs in residence halls, including but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, lighting, painting, furniture relocation and plumbing; communicating directly with the Housing Department when the Resident Hall Lead is absent; acting as liaison with HVAC and other facilities related contractors who are providing services with facilities operations, repairs and maintenance to residence halls; acting as primary and secondary emergency on call person for Facilities Management Department; providing labor assistance to Facilities Management Department during special events and emergencies; performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned, including but not limited to, event set-up, commencement support, homecoming and other campus events.
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years of work experience as a general handyman, contractor or apprentice. Must be able to lift 75lbs. and have knowledge of how to properly operate all types of small power tools. Candidates must have a valid California Drivers license and be insured. Employment is contingent upon passing a complete background investigation including a DMV report.
The hiring range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and departmental equity.
