Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in Theatre to begin in August, 2013. The successful candidate will be an excellent performance teacher and a skilled director. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to teach, direct for mainstage, and collaborate as a member of an artistic team to realize a unified production.
Normal teaching load is 12 semester credit hours. Directing and other co-curricular duties related to theatre are compensated with reassigned time; participation in departmental projects and involvement in college-wide activities is expected. Candidates should be prepared to direct one or two mainstage productions per year, and mentor or supervise other aspects of the theatre program as assigned.
We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague who can teach all levels of acting and directing, with experience in teaching musical theatre performance and women and theatre. Additional courses in the theatre or communication curriculum may include theatre history, introduction to theatre, and public speaking.
Qualifications include: MFA in Acting or Directing, Ph.D. preferred; potential for excellent teaching, scholarship and creative activity are essential; sympathy with the mission of Concordia College and the Lutheran (ELCA) church; minimum of 3 years teaching experience; Academic and professional directing experience.
