Piedmont Technical College invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President (Chief Information Officer) for Information Technology. This Associate Vice President serves as a member of the President's Leadership Team and is responsible for visionary leadership of the Information Technology Division which integrates appropriate technology throughout instructional, administrative, and operational services. The CIO will contribute to the collaborative development and execution of administrative and instructional strategies for the institution.

Piedmont Technical College is looking for a high-energy visionary leader to:

Serve as Chief Information Officer by providing vision, planning, and guidance in leading the institution's usage and management of information systems.

Responsible for the overall information technology environment and related services which support the academic, administrative, outreach, and public service goals of the college.

Plan, organize, and manage regular reviews of information systems, technologies, and related processes to ensure appropriate alignment with institutional goals and objectives. Serve as an advocate in the use of innovative, cost-effective technologies that support institutional objectives.

Lead collaborative development of strategic and tactical technology plans that integrate with and strongly support the college's strategic plan.

Lead collaborative development and testing of disaster recovery/business continuity plans as well as rigorous and robust information security policies and procedures.

Foster staff development and management practices to develop high performing teams and a culture of accountability.

Identify and implement "best practices" in management staff, systems, projects, and resources. Provides guidance and direction to the IT management team and direct staff supervision in some areas. Produce regular operational reports that can be used to analyze and evaluate service delivery, performance, and progress toward goals and objectives.

Develop and administer the IT operating and equipment budgets in consultation with the Vice President for Business and Finance, utilizing best practices and creativity to optimize available funding. Responsible for IT budget planning; evaluation and implementation of cost-effective information technologies; and management of appropriate vendor relationships.

Develop and deliver regular communications to the campus community regarding IT initiatives and related technical information. Cultivate effective working relationships with peers and peer groups. Continue to build and IT organization that delivers high quality customer service in all areas.

Serve as the institutional authority regarding compliance with regulatory requirements related to data and information security.

Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree plus six (6) years of progressively responsible related work experience managing in a complex technology services environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated leadership experience to include strategic and tactical planning, staff organizational development, financial management, and project governance. Knowledge of common processes and systems in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications: A master's degree plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible related work experience managing in a complex technology services environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated leadership experience to include strategic and tactical planning, staff organizational development, financial management, and project governance. Knowledge of common processes and systems in higher education. Prior experience providing leadership in higher education technology management at the Chief Information Technology level is preferred.
