Position: International Admissions Specialist/Transfer Recruiter, AFT, (Revised/Search Reopened)

Description:

The International Admissions Specialist/Transfer Recruiter is responsible for managing a broad range of services and providing academic admission and immigration advice to international and transfer applicants, students on F-1 Visas, as well as interpreting federal regulations and serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS.) The International Admissions Specialist/Transfer Recruiter is responsible for coordinating activities related to all aspects of international recruitment, admissions and processing requests/actions on F-1 such as the I-20, travel and employment authorizations, etc.; maintaining extensive records/databases; maintaining current knowledge of immigration regulations/procedures, best practices in international enrollment management, and ensuring Rowan University's F-1 compliance through active engagement with federal agencies (USCIS) and relevant professional networks and associations (NAFSA, Study NJ, Education USA et al.) Extensive travel will be required in order to participate in college fairs, open house, and other recruitment events targeting transfer student recruitment.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in International Education, Comparative Education, Counseling or a related field and at least two years experience required. Fluency in at least one foreign language is required. Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, oral and written communication skills required as well as strong organizational, customer service and computer skills. Experience living and or working overseas is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability able to work with diverse populations is essential.

Candidates should have previous experience in college recruitment and admission, and be familiar with the community college transfer process, and direct experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Must be a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) to qualify to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).

Starting Date: January 2013 or soon after
