The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) District 508, is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation, with 5,800 faculty and staff serving 120,000 students at seven campuses and thirteen satellite sites city-wide. The City Colleges of Chicago is currently in the midst of a collaborative effort to review and revise CCC programs and practices to ensure students leave CCC college-ready, career-ready and prepared to pursue their life’s goals.

CCC includes seven colleges: Richard J. Daley College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Olive-Harvey College, Harry S Truman College, Harold Washington College and Wilbur Wright College. The system also oversees: the Washburne Culinary Institute, the French Pastry School, two restaurants, five Child Development Centers, the Center for Distance learning, the Workforce Institute, the public broadcast station WYCC-TV Channel 20 and radio station WKKC-FM 89.3FM.

Duties
Responsible for leading and supporting district-wide research and planning initiatives associated with college and district operations, district-wide reporting metrics, and the institutionalization of the CCC reinvention initiative. Conducts data analysis; develops and maintains databases, analytical reports, and statistical models to document student success; plans and implements district-wide surveys; responds to internal and external requests.

Coordinates and provides support to district-wide research and planning projects. Researches solutions and best practices in higher education. Supports the reinvention teams by generating and analyzing information, creating charts, tracking issues, and developing communication materials. Works on the development of district-wide performance measures, metrics, score cards, and dashboards in all areas related to student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.

Works on projects to enhance information flow across the CCC District and enhance district-wide data collection. Generates information to meet college needs in the areas of HLC accreditation and federal and state reporting compliance. Assists the CCC leadership in collection and analysis of information for labor negotiations and collective bargaining. Develops reports, presentations, and communication materials. Communicates with district constituents to understand and document the information and reporting needs.

Formulates analysis plans and acquires approvals and agreement. Designs or assists in the development of research projects including questionnaires or moderator guides to ensure the necessary data is captured. Conducts in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods. Develops reports containing actionable recommendations. Makes effective presentations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Psychology or equivalent, or B.A. in Social Sciences plus three years experience in higher education research. Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics.

Advanced programming skills in statistical software tools such as SPSS or SAS (SAS query and reporting skills and/or SQL are highly desirable). Highly proficient in the use of MS-Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint). Strong analytical/organizational skills. Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff personnel at the college and district levels. Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
