Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Finance/Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting management with special projects focusing on coding and Ingenix edits for assigned clinical departments and/or third party payers. Primary focus will be on coding fee slips for clinical departments, entering the charges, and charge corrections and assisting with the daily Ingenix edits. In addition, the Finance/Accounting Analyst will be responsible for assisting senior management in identifying coding opportunities by applying coding knowledge to ensure correct billing guidelines are being followed; insurance verification prior to billing charges; and assisting senior management in identifying and analyzing options for maximizing Revenue Cycle efficiency by applying knowledge of reimbursement to clinical environments. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least two years related experience in medical practice. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Complete understanding of GE/IDX automated billing system and third party reimbursement of professional services.
*Must have knowledge of third party healthcare reimbursement regulations, CPT & ICD9-Coding and medical registration systems.
*Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
*Demonstrated knowledge of medical billing, terminology, and collection activity.
*Extremely proficient with all Microsoft applications including MS Office.
*Strong organizational skills.
Preferred:
*Experience with CPC.
