: The Department of Elementary, Linguistically Diverse, K-12 and Secondary Education at Metropolitan State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track elementary education faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2013.
: Teach 12 semester hours of day, evening, and/or on-line courses including instructional methods in science and math, foundation courses, curriculum and management courses for teacher candidates in the elementary education licensure program. The typcial teaching load is 12 credit hours. We are seeking a candidate who is willing to collaborate with colleagues and school personnel in supervision of clinical experiences and/or student teachers in the field, and possesses a desire to work with a diverse student body including, but not limited to, working adults, women and students of color to increase student retention and success. Other responsibilities include participation in Professional Development Schools, involvement in course and program development, professional development activities, committee service, and student advising. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
