Gainesville State College invites applications for the full time, benefit eligible staff position Admissions Counselor. Position will serve as one of the primary recruitment officers in the Office of Admissions as well as process student applications and advise students on admissions policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
•Attend high school and business college recruitment activities
•Support general office functions including PROBE (state-wide college fair program) recruitment events , Open House programs, and other programs related to recruitment and admissions
•Develop recruitment program for underrepresented populations
•Counsel prospective students, parents and others concerning College policies and procedures related to admissions decisions
•Establish and maintain relationships with local schools for recruitment purposes
•Evaluate documents of students to determine admissibility
•Evaluate documents to determine tuition classification
•Input of data into Banner Student Information System
•Significant travel during certain times of the year, including some limited overnight, evening, and weekend work
•Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college/university required and two years of admissions office experience preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION: This is a twelve-month professional position which requires some evening and /or weekend hours; some travel also required. Selected individual must have their own transportation which will be used for travel (state travel reimbursement available) and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: Salary offered to successful candidate will be commensurate with relevant skills, education and experience.
