Luther College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Music (trumpet), a tenure-eligible position beginning late August 2013.
Qualifications:
Doctorate preferred; ABD accepted (Instructor rank). The successful candidate should have outstanding performance abilities and demonstrated success as an applied teacher. A commitment to the mission of a liberal arts college and to maintaining a significant record of creative activity is also required.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility for this position is to teach applied trumpet. Additional teaching responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate’s strengths and the needs of the department. Will also advise students, work closely with admissions staff to recruit prospective students and support the bands, orchestras and jazz ensembles in which student musicians participate, participate in music auditions, and engage in appropriate service to the College.
