The Department of Mass Communications in the College of Social Sciences at the University of West Georgia invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Speech Communication to begin fall semester 2013.
The ideal candidate will primarily teach public speaking, serve on the Speech Communication Advisory Committee, and engage in other service to the institution. Candidates with an academic background in organizational communication are especially encouraged to apply.
Master’s degree or higher in mass communication, speech communication, or a closely related field is required. Applicants should have a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in speech communication or communication studies. Experience teaching college-level public speaking is a plus, as is experience working with learning communities (such as African-American Male, African-American Female, Pre-Engineering, and Nursing Scholars). Salary competitive. Anticipated start date: August 2013.
