SUNY Adirondack (SUNY-ADK) is a comprehensive community college and member of the State University of New York serving approximately 3,500 full- and part-time credit students annually. ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF AMERICAN HISTORY
The Social Science Division invites applications for a tenure-track position in American History at the assistant/associate professor rank beginning September 1, 2013.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach survey and upper level courses in American History. Ability to teach additional areas of history is beneficial.
Familiarity with technology is advantageous. Other responsibilities also include developing and updating courses, and service on college committees.
A Master’s Degree in American History and teaching experience are required; a Ph.D. and college teaching experience are preferred. Placement on salary scale reflects individual degrees/experience. The minimum salary is $39,544 (2011-12 faculty salary schedule subject to current Faculty Association negotiations.) Full time faculty salary is complemented by an excellent benefits package. Summer teaching and overload courses are additional.
