The Clark Science Center of Smith College invites applications for a Supervisor of Educational and Technical Computing. The Supervisor is responsible for the delivery of computing services in the Clark Science Center, as wells as for the development of introductory and advanced lectures, tutorials and/or short courses in the use and application of scientific computing in the context of undergraduate science and engineering education. The Supervisor supervises a staff of 3 systems administrators providing support for scientific and engineering applications of all types.
Computing services in the Clark Science Center span the mathematics and statistics, science, and engineering departments, and includes research and classroom computing for approximately 800 desktops, the Spatial Analysis Laboratory, a data center of largely virtualized servers, and a cluster and server grid used in research and teaching.
Candidates should have prior experience in an undergraduate education and science computing environment, proposal writing and budget administration. MS/MA required, PhD preferred.
