Farmer School of Business (Dean’s Office): Academic Advisor fulltime with primary responsibilities in advising and new student recruitment to provide individual academic advising and assist in academic planning and decision making; make referrals to appropriate resources and offices; initiate outreach programs for “at-risk” students; explore new advising and communication initiatives; represent School to prospective students and families; assist with open houses and other recruitment initiatives; support students seeking admission to business program; participate in portfolio review; support orientation programs for freshman, transfer, and new international students; additional responsibilities could include maintaining website, degree-audit programming, maintaining curricular and promotional materials, and support of scholarship awarding process; other duties as assigned. Require: Bachelor’s degree in related field; one or more years of advising/counseling experience in a university or college setting which may include experience during an educational program; excellent written and oral communication (including public speaking); and excellent organizational, technological, and collaborative skills. Desire: Master’s degree (preferably in counseling or college student personnel); experience in working with diverse student populations.
