The University of Wollongong's Graduate School of Medicine (GSM) and NSW Health's Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) have forged a strong relationship committed to improving the health outcomes of our community and regional Australians by bringing together research, teaching and clinical practice. We have a strong commitment to developing the next generation of medical professionals that are well equipped to negotiate the challenges of medical practice, particularly in regional, rural and remote locations.
As Senior Lecturer: Surgery you will work across the hospital and university and actively participate in the development and delivery of our MBBS curriculum. You will lead the development of clinical service, teaching and research in your area of surgical specialty, develop and facilitate education programs, activities and resources appropriate to our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You will form part of the ISLHD surgical roster in your area of surgical speciality. You will work closely with the Professor/Associate Professor Surgery to provide academic leadership in the hospital and affiliated organisations including the joint UOW and ISLHD operated Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute.
This position has been classified as "child related employment". Accordingly, candidates will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check as part of the process.
