Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in the Department of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology at The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences
Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in the Department of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology. We seek individuals working at the cellular, molecular or genetic level on projects addressing mechanisms of cancer development, progression or treatment. The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences, situated on the Health Science Campus, offers a highly collegial and collaborative environment with excellent research facilities. Areas of expertise currently represented in the department include signal transduction, protein trafficking, DNA damage/repair, and regulation and function of genes involved in cancer cell growth, differentiation, invasion and death. We are seeking an early career scientist with impressive research accomplishments. Although current funding is preferred, it is not prerequisite for consideration. Candidates are, however, expected to have high potential to achieve and maintain extramural national funding.
Cancer research is targeted for strategic emphasis by the institution and competitive start-up packages are available. In addition to maintaining an active research program, the recruited candidates will also be expected to contribute to the educational missions of the graduate and medical programs within The University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences.
