The instructor teaches course(s) in English as a second language focusing on the core skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension and related skills in grammar, pronunciation, and other communicative functions. Responsibilities also include adapting curriculum, preparing and scoring student evaluations, and counseling students. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to speakers of other languages), Linguistics, or Education. Advanced study in other fields will be considered if combined with TESOL experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
*Candidate must demonstrate competency in teaching individuals from countries other than the United States whose English language skills vary widely.
*Must demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences.
Preferred:
*Minimum of one year teaching experience.
*Previous experience working successfully in similar employment environment and with similar position responsibilities.
