The Center for the Arts (White Plains, NY extension center) at Westchester Community College Center seeks a P/T Technical Assistant to work evenings and Saturday mornings. Responsibilities include assisting the start of classes with lab set up, audio visual equipment & furniture installation; providing faculty and student support in the art labs with materials and equipment; preparing art supply kits; and answering phones when needed. S/he will also assist with the installation of art exhibitions in the gallery and with additional operational needs of the gallery.
The successful candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma and one year of experience in the area of specialty. Previous work experience with technology (machinery, audio/visual, computers or art related technologies and disciplines) is required. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to communicate in a professional manner are also required. Art experience and/or art education is a plus. The work hours for this position are: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm – 10:30 pm, and Saturday, 9 am – 1pm. $11.00 per hour. No benefits.
