Job Summary
Provides leadership for the Tax department, including vision, oversight and supervision, consistent with the goals and objectives of the University, Division of Finance & Administration and Office of the Controller.
Oversees the preparation, administration of University tax compliance filings and reports.
Supervises the Tax team, providing analytical review and comments as needed.
Oversees Tax services enhancements including implementation of new technologies and enhancements of existing systems.
Develops and implements procedures to improve compliance with institutional and Federal/State regulations.
Identifies problem areas with the insight to recognize potential areas of noncompliance.
Makes recommendations for policies and procedures and actively seeks to build, improve and adapt methods and directives to enhance and promote the University's compliance.
Assists the University Controller with special projects related to the Tax team including compliance, policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and four years of experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and six years of experience.
Desired Qualifications
Department Requires: Master's degree in Taxation or other appropriate area of specialization.
