Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the Admissions Counselor/ Recruiter Recruiter - US Northwest/Korea has responsibilities for regional admissions recruitment and advising in the US Northwest and Korea for the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools (OARS). The position has a professional level of expertise in international nonresident recruitment as well as all areas of evaluation for freshman and transfer applicants, and a comprehensive knowledge of the educational processes. This expertise is acquired through experience in the position and additional training in specialized areas. Independently completes tasks utilizing established department guidelines and deadlines. The position is also a resource to the external community: high school and community college counselors, representatives from other universities, and the UC Irvine campus community.
The Admissions Counselor/Regional Recruiter is also responsible for evaluation of freshmen and transfer applicants; counseling and advising of the public including, but not limited to, prospective applicants, parents, faculty, and administration on admission-related issues; and participating in various recruitment and yield activities. The position interprets the complex requirements for admission and makes independent decisions regarding the acceptance of transfer coursework from domestic institutions to the University and represents the University and OARS at high school and community college conferences and meetings. The Admissions Officer participates in interdepartmental and system-wide meetings regarding the admission of students to the University.
In addition to the above duties, the Admissions Counselor/Regional Recruiter is responsible for specialized coordination and liaison duties, which are related to generating freshman and advance standing applications, evaluations and enrollment.
This position provides leadership to OARS regarding the design, coordination, evaluation, implementation, updating and reporting of regional recruitment initiatives targeted toward prospective high school and transfer ready community college students.
Salary: Annual $49,536 - $65,634
Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M-F
Contract position.
The incumbent must travel frequently to the US Northwest region, Korea and other Asian countries as assigned.
