What We’re Looking For:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting a multi-million dollar revenue goal to be obtained by developing partnerships and strategies across 2U degree programs. This role will work to identify potential partners, build proposals, negotiate and close new deals. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and closing long-term partnerships, both online and offline, with corporations, associations, websites, and other partners.
Identify and build partnerships resulting in students across multiple 2U programs
Tailor proposals to meet each potential partner’s short and long-term goals, while incorporating the strategy of the 2U program(s) within the structure of the deal.
Build and execute student acquisition strategy
Ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organization and translate the proposed strategic initiatives to projects
Cultivate partnerships with entities relevant to the education space, as well as contextually relevant to a specific university partner.
Develops and maintains mastery in positioning both 2U as well as 2U’s university partners / programs.
Seeks out new opportunities to develop company’s presence with new and existing clients. Ensures renewal, growth and profitability of all partners.
Understands all financial aspects of program cost structure.
Additionally, this person’s responsibilities will include:
Prospecting and contacting online vendor/media properties for cost-effective lead generation opportunities
Work with the marketing department on major initiatives for specific projects that have a significant online potential;
Scaling existing vendor relationships to increase lead growth and profitability
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Experience developing partnerships in a B2B, B2C and internet environment, with a preferred focus on the EDU vertical
Intimate knowledge of all deal structures pertaining to online marketing campaigns: CPC, CPM, CPL, Flat Fee
Working in a start -up highly regarded
Must be an active listener as well as an articulate and adaptable communicator. Excellent selling, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Experience using reporting and data to drive decisions
