Position Summary:

The Financial Services Manager position is a full-time employment opportunity. Within a centralized financial aid structure, to advise and assist students and parents with the financial aid process and provide information on available Federal, State and Institutional programs, procedures and eligibility. Also, to provide leadership to financial aid staff and oversee day to day operations. The Financial Services Manager reports to the Director of Financial Services / Associate Director of Financial Services.

Essential Job Duties:

• Oversee financial aid process from document intake, awarding, disbursement and withdrawal via Campus Vue activities and letter series.
• Complete and oversee the VA Certification and/or Military Tuition Assistance Invoicing Processes..
• Assist in development of policies and procedures to service our students / customer’s needs.
• Responsible for overseeing staff production and ensuring overall financial services staff performance goals are met in the following areas: document tracking, packaging, aging and accounts receivable, activities complete / customer service incoming and outgoing calls.
• Research and provide assistance in escalated customer services issues and route accordingly.
• Work closely with all departments and implement processes in a team environment.
• Provide leadership and regulatory compliance on financial aid issues and reports.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs.
• Assist the Director / Associate Director of Student Finance with hiring, training, monitoring and motivation of financial service staff to overachieve budgeted packaging and show rate objectives.
• Responsible for overseeing account receivable and DSO and meeting department goals.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint applications.
• Proficient in database contact management applications and strategies.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, Finance / Accounting, Marketing or experience 3 – 5 years of Federal, State, and Institutional student aid programs

Physical Requirements:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee requires dexterity in using telephone, computer keyboard, mouse and calculator while seated at a desk. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Communication Skills: While performing Duties of the job, the employee is required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. The employee requires the ability to write effective and detailed correspondence and to effectively present information both in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mental Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
