Saint Josephs University’s Department of Biology has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. Professionals with experience and a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level will be given preference. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening.

Courses available for adjunct staffing may include:
Non-Major courses
1. Human organism – a elementary course in anatomy and physiology.
2. Heredity and Evolution – an introductory course in genetics and evolutionary principles.
Laboratory section
1. Freshman lab sections for our introductory Cell and Genetics course.
2. Lab sections for non-science major course Exploring the Living World.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
Teaching of a specified course
Preparation of materials
Providing support and guidance to students
Report Grades
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
May require standing for long periods of time, talking for long periods of time and carrying course materials.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree in an area of Biology or closely related major.
Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or PhD in an area of Biology. Previous teaching experience. Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
