Dean of the College
Franklin & Marshall College invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College.
The Dean of the College will be an articulate champion of liberal arts education and of its power to change lives. As Franklin & Marshall’s senior student affairs leader, he or she will play a central role in creating a dynamic, encompassing learning environment that builds community and fosters the intellectual, cultural, social, ethical, and post-collegiate development of a diverse and talented student body. Reporting to the President, the Dean is a member of the College’s senior leadership team, and will have particular responsibility for residential life, counseling and health services, student conduct, the Ware Institute for Civic Engagement, multicultural affairs, religious and spiritual life, academic awards, Greek life, and athletics. The Dean works closely with the Provost in the areas of academic advising and international programs.
Franklin & Marshall, founded in 1787, is a highly selective private liberal arts college that prizes its strong faculty-student community centered on small classes and faculty-student research. F&M is proud of its faculty-led College House system, which blends residential community, intellectual exploration, and student self-governance. The College enrolls some 2,400 students from diverse backgrounds in 43 states and 44 foreign countries. Its faculty are exceptional teachers and active scholars, offering a curriculum that spans the arts and sciences.
