Our Lady of the Lake University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Business and Leadership and Dean of the School of Professional Studies and Worden School of Social Service. The Dean in each School will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The appointment will be effective July 1, 2013.
Founded in 1895, the University enrolls students in 33 bachelor’s degree programs, 14 master’s degree programs, and two doctoral degree programs. Weekend Degree Programs are offered in San Antonio, Houston, and the Rio Grande Valley. The University’s planning is focused upon goals aimed at retaining and emphasizing its Catholic identity and predominantly Hispanic character.
The successful candidate in each school will have: earned the doctoral degree in a field appropriate for that School; bring a record of exemplary leadership and administrative experience; be aware of the accelerating trends and challenges within higher education; have the demonstrated ability and commitment to work collaboratively with colleagues in developing a vision of continuing growth and increasing academic strength, which is consistent with the University’s strategic goals; and be committed to providing ongoing leadership which will perpetuate the University’s distinctive national role in providing students educational opportunities within one of America’s most dynamic, multi-cultural metropolitan areas.
