We are seeking innovative leaders for a key faculty and administrative positions.
This position is responsible to prepare and teach courses in Economics, including macro economics and micro economics, and support ongoing programs of Tacoma Community College. This position reports to the Dean for Academic Services.
Essential Functions
•Prepare and teach courses in economics.
•Update and revise curriculum as necessary.
•Participate actively in departmental initiatives.
•Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
•Masters degree in Economics from an accredited college or university.
-OR- Bachelors degree in Economics from an accredited college or university –AND- a Masters degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Business Education, Finance, or Political Science OR closely related field.
•Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
•Masters degree in Economics from an accredited college or university.
•Teaching experience in college/university programs
•Work experience in business, management, marketing or related fields.
•Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning, including LMS/CMS software.
•Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in departmental projects and initiatives.
•Ability, history, and/or desire to develop & teach on-line/hybrid courses.

Terms Of Employment
This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Quarterly contracts are between 48 and 50 days in length (except summer quarter). The salary is $753.00 per credit hour which includes scheduled class time and final exam days as well as time for class preparation, weekly office hours, and grading tasks. Classes assigned to the successful candidate will be fully on campus with an online learning management system (Angel) component for some class materials.
