CENTRAL COLLEGE is a residential liberal arts college dedicated to the education of 1600 undergraduate students. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, tenure track appointment to begin August 2013
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate (ABD considered) and successful K-12 teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in one of the following areas: middle school, secondary, or math methods; or educational psychology. Experience with using or teaching educational assessment should be highlighted in the application.
RESPONSIBILITIES: teach undergraduate middle school, secondary, and/or math methods courses; teach educational psychology; teach the college’s first year seminar; participate in scholarly activity; provide service to the department, college, and educational community. The normal course load is 21 – 24 semester hours per year, or three courses per semester. Potential applicants should be committed to undergraduate teaching and have an understanding of, and appreciation for, the liberal arts environment.
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION: There are currently eight, full-time faculty. In addition to the Elementary Education major, numerous K-8, 5-12 and K-12 endorsement programs are offered. New state-of–the-art physical facilities and technological support are available to students and faculty.
