McPherson College invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management. The Vice President is a cabinet-level position reporting directly to the President of the College and serves as the primary professional related to new student enrollment results, retention, and financial aid funding. S/he is responsible for the creation, organization, implementation, and evaluation of undergraduate recruitment, enrollment, and admissions strategies and programs leading to the successful attainment of student recruitment goals.
The College and the McPherson Community: McPherson College, a four-year private college, has had a distinguished history of providing excellent liberal arts and career-oriented education since being chartered in 1887. The College’s 20 academic disciplines hold to the highest academic standards while integrating practical experience. Students learn by doing. Full time enrollment is about 620 with the strategic decision to increase its enrollment to 900 by 2016. Nearly 90% of the College’s graduating class is fully employed in their field of study. The College’s 23 acres are found in the community of McPherson, located in central Kansas. In the past decade, the city of McPherson has been consistently ranked in the top 40 of the “Best Small Towns in America” and recently McPherson County was named the third-best place to live in rural America for its 30,000 residents. Qualifications: The Vice President for Enrollment Management should have at least five years of experience in higher education enrollment management at the Director level or above; a master’s degree; demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment, and marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective including the use of social media and information technology to improve the recruitment and enrollment of students; proven success in creating, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive enrollment, recruitment, and communication plans; and lead a performance-driven enrollment and retention management team. Experience in financial aid to develop enrollment and retention strategies through leveraging initiatives is important. The Vice President must have the ability to analyze regional, national, and global market trends as well as current and anticipated demands for particular programs. Knowledge of best practices in the efficient use of resources is expected.
