Position Summary: Princeton University has a part-time casual hourly position available for the following position: AIT 010 Technical Support Specialist for The Peter B. Lewis Center for the Arts.
Primary responsibilities will include coordinating with staff and faculty to provide onsite support in a variety of computer and audio-visual equipment applications, and working with the Technical Manager to optimize and maintain the Academic, Administrative and Public Access computing and Audio-Visual systems. Additional responsibilities include supporting four Macintosh based classrooms, public access stations and the peripheral equipment used by students in those facilities.
Additional responsibility includes assisting Technical Support Specialist and Communications Staff with production of Lewis Center video recordings, media production for website and distribution.
Competitive applicants will possess working knowledge of Mac OS X 10.6.x - 10.8.x (Server and Client) and Windows XP/Vista/Win 7 operating system and server environments, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Apple Pro Applications including Final Cut Pro 7 & X, Soundtrack, Motion and Aperture. Experience with configuration and support for a variety of e-mail and web tools including OS X Mail, Outlook Exchange, Thunderbird, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Quicktime Pro, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and ImageReady are also a plus.
Finalist will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and background check.
Other qualities for this position include a background in a customer service environment, strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously for a variety of campus and off-campus locations and events.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Essential Qualifications: This position will require the ability to work independently on a flexible evening schedule, with occasional weekend hours as required. Essential abilities include troubleshooting a variety of desktop productivity, multimedia and graphics software issues, information access tools, web based administrative applications such as PeopleSoft, Blackboard, networking and printing processes in a multi-platform computing environment. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to lift 70 pounds, work on 6 foot ladder.
