Sr. Operations Manager, Retail
Position Summary: The selected candidae will be responsible for planning and manageing all service, production, personnel and financial aspects of the University Retail Operations including a Food Court, Café, Convenience Store & Concessions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan and manage all aspects of food production.
2. Oversees purchasing, receiving, inventory and distribution of food and non food products.
3. Assist in the development of new recipes; research customer trends and develop new menus in cooperation with Chef and managers.
4. Hire, schedule, discipline and evaluate employees.
5. Train employees to ensure guests satisfaction.
6. Utilize survey data and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.
7. Maintain standards of sanitation and safety in compliance with health and safety in compliance with health and safety regulations.
8. Maintain annual and monthly budgets.
9. Ensure proper billing, payroll, cash handling, and other business office procedure.
10. Support all University service departments and promote cooperation at all levels.
11. Participate in administrative marketing and advertising programs.
12. Monitor repair and maintenance of equipment.
13. Support all University training initiatives.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
2. Ability to regularly lift and control 50 pounds.
3. Flexibility with scheduling. Weekend work and work in various Dining Services locations required.
4. Valid Driver's License.
Experience
1. Five to Ten years of retail food service supervisory experience preferred.
2. Knowledge of New Jersey State Health Department rules and regulations is required.
Skills required:
1. Must be able to coordinate and delegate tasks (including employee scheduling) to meet service deadlines.
2. Good interpersonal skills with ability to take and give direction and work with others.
3. Knowledge of computerized systems with ability to develop menu forecasts, monitor standards, and control costs.
