Position Summary: The Princeton University Department of Chemistry seeks candidates for the position of Director of the new Princeton University Small Molecule Screening Center. The Screening Center is a collaborative research facility that aims to identify, develop and advance projects to enhance the pipeline for biologically relevant small molecule discovery at Princeton University.
As Director, the selected candidate will provide leadership in managing program activities to promote and carry out various molecular discovery efforts and disruptive biology projects across the Princeton campus. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the screening center which include 1) active interaction with faculty, researchers, post-doctoral associates, graduate, and undergraduate students to support cutting edge research by employing a wide range of contemporary high-throughput screening assays; 2) performance of all follow-up organic synthesis activities; and, 3) maintenance of the screening center infrastructure. The director will work to ensure the long-term sustainability of the screening center.

Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in organic synthesis (or related field) and is expected to have broad experience and knowledge in medicinal chemistry. In addition, the candidate should have current bench skills, demonstrated proficiency in mass spectroscopy technology and analytical chemistry, and is expected to keep current in organic synthesis and screening methods. Must perform all organic synthesis activities in a highly efficient manner. Will maintain complete and accurate records of user activities for recharge purposes, establish platforms for documenting operating and analytical procedures, and comply with safety and security standards and procedures.
