Media Specialist - **(Casual Hourly- Temporary Position)**

Position Summary: The Media Specialist is responsible for providing audio-visual support for the academic/public events at the University.

Responsibilities:
- Provide primary support for all audio and visual presentations in classrooms, lecture halls and special events.
- Operate traditional and computer-assisted audio-visual systems for classes and special events.
- Provide the integration of various computer laptops to the University network, and connect to appropriate display devices either portable or within fixed systems.
- Assist lecturers in the setup and operations of multimedia systems in various teaching areas, and to provide necessary microphone speech support for each event.

This position pays $15.00 per hour.

Will require night and weekend hours.

Essential Qualifications: Position Requires:

--Must be dedicated and responsible for supporting events at required scheduled times.
--Proven skills in providing media support in traditional and emerging technologies in an educational setting.

Must meet requirements for lifting/handling equipment including:

--Stand or walk for 2-4 hours at one time, up to 4 hours per day.
--Sit for 2- 4 hours during an 8-hour day.
--Lift or carry up to 75 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the workday).
--Occasionally use hands for simple grasping , fine manipulation, pushing, pulling (less than 33% of the workday).
--Push or pull using forces up to 50 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the workday).
--bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladders, reach or lift overhead, knee stand, push or pull, lie down, or crawl occasionally (less than 33% of the work day);
--lift up to 50 pounds in a range of motions from floor to overhead and 75 pounds in a range of motions from floor to chest height
--work outdoors under a range of environmental and temperature conditions
--climb 4 flights of stairs, climb up to 24 foot ladder or in an awkward body positions for periods of up to 2 hours at one time;
--posess physical agility, full range of motion, and ability to maintain balance

FINALIST MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL.

Preferred Qualifications: --3 years experience in electronics or media production preferred.

Education Required: High School or Equivalent
