Front of House Manager Forbes

Position Summary: In one of our Residential Colleges (Forbes) the selected cadidate will assist with the planning and management of all aspects of service, production, personnel and financial reporting in a residential dining facility.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the planning and management of all aspects of food production and service.

2. Hire, train, discipline and evaluate employees.

3. Assist in the planning and service of special events.

4. Maintain standards of sanitation and safety in compliance with health and safety regulations.

5. Participate in the purchasing, receiving, storing, inventory, and issuance of food products as needed.

6. Encourage input from customers and respond to inquiries and suggestions in a timely manner.

7. Maintain proper billing and financial reporting procedures.

8. Supervise Catering functions as assigned.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Possible Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Schedule will be discussed during the interview process and established when an offer of employment is made. Flexibility, nights, weekends and work outside of the unit are required. Schedule may change due to business neeeds.

Essential Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:

1. High School Diploma, Associate's Degree preferred from a Hotel/Restaurant School

Experience

1. One to two years of college or university food service supervisory experience preferred.

Skills Required

1. Must be able to coordinate and delegate tasks (including employee scheduling) to meet meal service deadlines.

2. Good interpersonal skills with ability to take and give direction and work with others.

3. Knowledge of and experience with the use and maintenance requirements for various kitchen equipment.

4. Knowledge of computerized food production systems.

5. Ability to regularly lift and control 60 pounds.

6. Valid driver's license

7. Flexibility with scheduling. Weekend work and work outside a dining unit required.

8. Knowledge of New Jersey State Health Department rules and regulations is required.

Finalist must successfully pass a background check.
