Position Summary: The Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is seeking the services of an Electrical Engineer with experience in the design, procurement, commissioning, and operation of large electrical power systems and associated equipment.

The successful candidate will participate in the design of AC distribution systems typical of nuclear power plants and large industrial facilities, and will oversee the activities of engineering subcontractors and equipment suppliers. In addition, activities will include the modification and commissioning of existing facilities in support of project upgrades at PPPL involving AC power systems and multi-MW AC/DC converter systems and associated equipment such as high current cable and cable tray, DC bus, DC switchgear, and control and protection.

Essential Qualifications: Qualifications include a BSEE (advanced degree preferred) with at least 10 years of experience in the design, specification, and procurement of AC power systems equipment in a utility, industrial or scientific research environment including proficiency in power systems analysis using software such as ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP, MATLAB/Simulink/SimPowerSystems, etc. Experience in power systems commissioning and operations is also desirable. Familiarity with AC/DC converters and DC systems would be advantageous.

The ability to interface effectively with a wide range of scientific and technical personnel and willingness to work on all aspects of a project are highly desirable, including the supervision of engineering subcontractors and oversight of equipment suppliers.
