Position Summary: The Staffing Specialist is a member of the HR Services team, reporting to the Director of Staffing. This position will partner with hiring managers, administrators and other staffing specialists to drive a consistent hiring process ensure quality hiring decisions and meet the university's mission regarding diversity and inclusion. The staffing specialist also participates in client-driven cross-functional teams, led by the Senior HR Managers within Employee Relations.

- Manage a high volume recruitment portfolio consisting of a broad range of exempt and non-exempt positions. Maintain a consistently high placement rate through solid understanding of client needs
- Work closely with Senior HR Manager and cross-functional team to anticipate personnel actions and organizational changes that impact staffing
- Develop and implement sourcing, recruitment and retention strategies based on in-depth understanding of available resources
- Utilize social media outlets and networking to expand the scope of searches and reach a broad audience
- Recruit, pre-screen, interview, evaluate and hire qualified applicants
- Advise hiring managers of alternative and/or more effective sources in order to acquire a successful and diverse applicant pool
- Contribute to the development and consistent implementation of best practices in customer service with a focus on clarity, timeliness and quality.
- Work together with the compensation analyst and the hiring manager to develop and negotiate job offers consistent with HR guidelines
- Conduct pre- and post-employment background and reference checks and physicals
- Represent the University at job fairs, community events, etc. to promote employment opportunities
- Provide assistance to candidates regarding travel and relocation of candidates and new employees coming to campus.

Essential Qualifications: This position requires 4-6 years of recruitment and sourcing experience, preferably in higher education. Demonstrated experience with automated applicant database and tracking system.

- Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office Suite)
