Our 123-acre campus in Chicago Heights includes classroom and administrative facilities, a Surgical Technology and Dental Hygiene Center, the Christopher Art Gallery, and a Business and Community Education Center.
We are looking for a Mathematics instructor who can communicate effectively with a diverse population of students. The person chosen for this position will teach a variety of mathematics courses, work on curriculum development, and collaborate with colleagues in mathematics on the assessment of student learning and other projects. This position will start Fall 2012.
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, or a mathematics intensive field
such as Computer Science or Engineering with at least 18 graduate hours of pure or applied mathematics
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Experience using technology in the classroom
Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience teaching mathematics at a community college.
• Experience working with culturally and intellectually diverse students.
• Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Interest in pedagogy and familiarity with outcomes assessment.
• Interest in and experience working with students in developmental mathematics courses.
