Assistant Professor of Math
Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, with a 120-acre main campus in Fairmont, WV, is part of the state’s growing high technology corridor with a metro area of about 50,000 residents.
Duties and Responsibilities Teach developmental mathematics;
Maintain scheduled office, classroom and laboratory hours on campus sites as required;
Proctor developmental mathematics lab including testing and assisting students with online assignments and technical issues;
Participate in Academic Studies and Pierpont programs and meetings;
Participate in program review and assessment;
Maintain mutually respectful relationships with peers, staff and students;
Assume other responsibilities as assigned by Dean of the School of Academic Studies; and
Participate in recruitment and retention of students.
Minimum Required Education MS or MA in Mathematics, Mathematic Education or related field and evidence of strong computer skills
Required Licenses and/or Certifications NA
Type and Amount of Experience Needed Experience in teaching developmental mathematics at the two-year college level or other teaching experience;
Computer Technical Skills; ability to work well with a team.
