This job expired 2 months ago.The Classroom and Lab Computing group within ITS Teaching and Learning with Technology is seeking a Programmer/Analyst for a wide variety of challenging software development projects in support of our student computing in labs and classrooms and various services supporting units across the whole University. CLC’s Cooperative Lab Management system currently encompass over 7,500 computers in 1000 rooms at all Penn State locations. These are a subset of a Systems Management service that helps 300 IT professionals manage 21,000 systems. Penn State’s state-of-the-art eTesting center operates with complex software systems designed and written by our development team. Duties of this job include proposing, designing and making enhancements to existing software, identifying needs and requirements for new projects, designing database structures, defining application interactions and network protocols, coding, and writing internal and end-user documentation for those systems. The successful candidate will have experience in systems architecture, database design, Microsoft SQL Server programming, VB.Net and/or C#.Net, ASP.Net and Web services, and will have demonstrated creativity in developing software solutions in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. This job will be filled as a level 2 or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate’s education and experience. Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire.
