Position Summary:
Under direction of the Director of Information Technology, the System Coordinator ensures that technology assets function in accordance with needs of faculty and staff with stability and security as primary concerns. This includes providing first-line on-site support to CPS faculty and staff, maintaining inventory of technology-related assets, preparing and maintaining CPS-sponsored computer labs, deploying technological assets for special programs (such as Foundation Year), providing general support and consultation for desktop software. Consultation includes high-level Office Suite support (Word mail merge, Access database configuration, and multimedia support). The Systems Coordinator will also troubleshoot hardware and software problems as they arise, provide direction as necessary when viruses, phishing scams (and the like) occur, and coordinate backups, upgrades, and maintenance. This position is the primary point-of-contact for the central Help Desk for CPS faculty and staff. In addition to desktop support, this position acts as security administrator for key enterprise systems and may assist with special technology projects. In addition, this position will occasionally direct work-study students involved in special projects and deployment activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Computer Science or MIS degree preferred. Minimum 4 years of demonstrated success in desktop support, deployment, and basic inventorying processes. High-level knowledge of popular desktop software packages (Access, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc) and desktop/mobile Operating Systems (Windows, Mac O/S, iOS, Android, etc.). Knowledge of hardware diagnostic software, computer safety (virus, phishing, etc.) and backup and restore techniques, Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to learn quickly. Organizational and security administration experience required.
