Position Summary:

The Student Employment Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for new and continuing students and their families, as well as on and off campus employers. This position will answer main Student Employment phone lines, review and respond to daily “contact us” inquiries, resolve problems and issues related to the student employment process. The incumbent will provide JOBX/TSX training to students and employers. This position will attend and present at open houses and student orientations. The incumbent will perform the day to day payroll operations for the Student Employment Office. This includes processing, monitoring and performing quality control on all incoming and outgoing payroll and timesheet information. Additionally, this position is responsible to assist with the processing of student I-9s via the E-Verify system. This position will assist with the creation and approve/denial of jobs and hiring requests. This position will assist with special projects, supervision of student employees and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Three to five years of related office experience with a strong background in customer service, supervisory experience a plus. Payroll processing experience is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, experience with JOBX/TSX software highly desirable. This position requires excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to interact with a diverse population. Experience in higher education or in Student Services highly desirable.
