The Sr Grants Administrator’s overall responsibility is to serve as primary contact on all grants-related matters for faculty members (36) and research scientists (6) and Professors of Practice (2) in the College of Computer and Information Science. This position will focus on all post-award activities with regard to grants and gifts. Position also requires supervision of part-time administrative staff.
The Sr Grants Administrator will provide post award financial and administrative support in the College of Computer and Information Science and provide aggregate reports of CCIS research activities to the College leadership team. Will meet and work closely with Associate Deans to develop strategies to advance the College’s research mission and ensure that PI’s are spending funds at the appropriate rate.
Post-award responsibilities will entail accounting and administrative support to faculty (36) including purchasing, along with ongoing communication with CCIS faculty in regards to University and federal policies and regulations. Candidate will work closely with faculty, research scientists, Grants Administrator, Director of Budget and Personnel Administration and staff in ORAF, finance/budget, and accounts payable.
-5-7 years accounting experience, with 2 years experience in an academic environment with grant preparation and management experience a plus
-Solid understanding of federal/University grant operations, rates and regulations along with knowledge of relevant government regulations and university accounting procedures preferred
-Computer literacy required, particularly spreadsheet software
-Analytical skills, strong orientation to detail, ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects
-Strong interpersonal communication skills
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or business administration; MBA preferred
