This is a non-tenure track, part-time faculty position in the Summer Programs for High School Students in the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University. Our Summer Programs include credit and noncredit options designed to prepare rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the academic, social, and campus experiences of their freshman year of college.
Building on Northeastern’s world-renowned reputation for experiential learning, our programs focus on helping students understand how academic topics are used in real-world applications.
Responsibilities include teaching semester-based academic credit and/or non-credit content course(s), in a hybrid-online or on-ground format, to high school students in one of the following fields.
• Interpersonal Communications
• English as a Second Language (ESL) (non-Credit)
• Writing for International Students
• American Literature
• Political Science
• Criminal Justice
• Skill development and Time Management (non-credit)
• Sports Management and Leadership (non-credit)
• Health Careers (non-credit)
• Drawing and Painting (non-credit)
Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred in related field/industry. Three or more years of teaching required. On-line teaching experience desirable.
The program dates are from Sunday, June 29 to Friday, July 25, 2014 (no classes on July 4 or Fridays).
