Under the supervision of the Executive Director for EMSA Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing annual program- and audience-specific marketing strategies to support the University’s strategic vision and new student enrollment goals for key graduate programs. This position is the primary marketing contact for graduate programs developing annual program- and audience-specific marketing strategies to support the University’s strategic vision and new student enrollment goals for key graduate programs. Within several of the University’s colleges and the Graduate Campuses, and is responsible for executing, tracking, and reporting on these plans. Marketing plans should incorporate an integrated mix of appropriate media, such as print advertising, online/web advertising, search engine marketing, direct mail, email marketing, radio, events marketing and any other media. Additionally, the Marketing Manager develops marketing collateral in support of recruiting and marketing efforts for graduate programs. The Marketing Manager also works with the College’s enrollment staff to develop strategies to convert qualified leads into applicants and enrolled students.
The Marketing Manager is also responsible for managing the regional marketing efforts on behalf of the Graduate Campuses. This position manages the regional marketing & media agencies to oversee the development of strategies that meet enrollment goals. Additionally, the Marketing Manager collaborates with the Regional Dean & CEO and regional staff to develop and implement marketing strategies that meet the Graduate Campus’ goals. This position also consults on enrollment management strategy on behalf of the Graduate Campus and key graduate programs.
This position is responsible for monitoring budgets and production timelines to ensure each initiative is accomplished within the appropriate parameters. The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing vendor relationships and business processes related to the execution of all communications. Specifically the Marketing Manager interfaces with University Marketing and Communication as well as external vendors to ensure consistent messaging in all external communications. The position will also require ongoing research to continually find and make recommendations on new marketing approaches and the development of new and rich content for the program website pages. In addition, the Marketing Manager is responsible for oversight of the CRM system to execute marketing initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Eight to ten years of marketing or communication experience, preferably in a higher education setting. The candidate must possess excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills; strong initiative; ability to think creatively and work under tight deadlines. Experience working with the design and development of recruitment publications is necessary. Proven ability to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills, and supervisory abilities required.
