The Integrated Designer participates in the planning, design, development and production of a variety of creative projects including, but not limited to, print and digital mediums for the Enrollment Marketing Unit.
This role will be required to maintain an integrated design approach, inclusive of print and digital formats, while serving as the main print designer responsible for conceptualization and delivery of print collateral and other design projects including, but not limited to, brochures, invitations, posters, premium items, etc.
Additionally, this role is responsible for understanding the strategic marketing goals of the Enrollment Marketing Unit and for executing creative strategy into end-products that visually align with the Northeastern University value proposition, brand guidelines and best practices for achieving results. The Integrated Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and consult messaging guides to transfer objectives for an initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various personae and in multiple design channels and target audiences.
This position is part of a high volume office that requires high quality work delivered in a timely manner. The position will support both the Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment Marketing teams, working collaboratively with Marketing Managers in each unit.
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.F.A.) in Graphic Design or related field required. Successful candidate will have two+ years experience in both print and web/interactive design experience (corporate or agency). Solid command of, and ability to integrate, a broad set of marketing disciplines including but not limited to: brand, print, and digital. Proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel) required. Strong knowledge in pre-press, printing, and Web standards required. Familiarity with HTML5/CSS and Wordpress preferred. Have solid knowledge of graphic design, user interface design, usability methodology, information architecture, industry standards and trends, platform and browser capabilities and web constraints to create consistent, accessible, intuitive interactive web-based tools that enhance the user’s experience and promote learning. Creative thinking, critical analysis and problem-solving skills, along with flexibility/adaptability are essential – must possess comfort in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities. Ability to frame issues in clear, logical constructs, utilize segment knowledge and conceptual thinking is critical. Proficiency with IT platforms including Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and leading Web browsers. Strong achievement orientation, solid planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated results in a matrixed organization. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor plus fluid communication and presentation skills with the ability to present and sell their work.
