Position Summary:

This position for the College Human Resources will report directly to the College of Professional Studies, Human Resources Director. The qualified individual will be responsible for assisting in planning, managing and coordinating all human resources systems and services within the College, including recruitment, training and orientation, policies and procedures, and general human resources operations. The environment is very fast paced and excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility are essential for success. The candidate will collaborate on a regular basis with Assistant Deans, the Sr. Associate Director of Office Admininistration, and Budget and Financial analysts.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in managing all personnel functions for the College, including the contract processes for all faculty (full-time and part-time) and administrative/professional staff

• Assisting in ensuring that institutional human resources policies are implemented consistently and in accordance with federal and state laws

• Assisting in organizing and scheduling new employee orientation for the College

• Documenting HR processes and procedures

• Preparing presentations

• Ensuring the accuracy of employee data in centralized systems

• Assisting in recruitment efforts for all faculty and staff positions

• Assisting with personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee appraisals, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews; as well as revisions associated with job descriptions

• Monitoring visa and funding expirations

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of College Human Resources

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field required. A minimum of 2 – 3 years of relevant full time, professional human resources management experience, including recruiting experience. Ability to exercise discretion with all information, especially confidential information is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills are required. Candidate must also be able to work accurately and effectively with financial data and confidential information. Demonstrated skills in teamwork and collaboration. High level of expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word is required. Experience using PeopleAdmin and Banner preferred. The ability to learn new technology and systems quickly and apply them to daily tasks is essential.
