The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applicants for part-time positions in an innovative Doctorate of Education Program that addresses the increasing need for individuals working in educational settings and other learning environments to possess doctoral level competencies. This is a scholar-practitioner program that integrates problems of practice with rigorous academic research in specialized areas designed to prepare individuals to advance in senior leadership roles.
The College seeks non-tenure faculty who will teach and advise students with doctoral research projects. Part-time positions are 12-month non-tenure track, renewable appointments. Actual course load may vary according to program needs, up to 18 quarter hours per year. Other responsibilities associated with supporting the Doctor of Education program may be required.
The position requires a doctorate in education or a related field, 2-3 years experience advising students at the doctoral level, experience working in K-12 and higher education settings, proficiency teaching English Language Learners (ELL), expertise in several research methodologies, and a strong record of teaching excellence that includes on-line instruction and innovative use of instructional technology.
Teaching during the evenings and on weekends may be required with some travel.
