The Bouvé College Office of Research (BCORe) Grants Administrator serves as liaison for the BCORe with research faculty and the College administration. The primary responsibilities for this position are to track the progress and status of governmental grant proposals from initial contact through submission; prepare reports on grant submissions and awards; monitor current funding and generate standard templates for investigator and grant reports on effort and expenditures; and develop and maintain a grants and project management system so that the entire administration of a grant from concept development through project close-out is monitored. This position will also assist with the coordination of monthly salary verification reports including the creation of new electronic reports. He/she will work closely with grant administrators at both BCORe and the Northeastern University Office of Research and Finance (ORAF) in creating automated systems to generate reports and standard templates.
The person in this position will also coordinate research repositories for grant-related materials including standardized NIH biographical sketches and templates for auxiliary documents such as research and environment pages. He/she will work closely with investigators to assist with these documents and with ongoing reports for their sponsored research projects. This position will also work with other administrative staff and students in helping coordinate meetings and BCORe events.
This position requires the capabilities to develop tracking and monitoring systems, to understand the needs of faculty researchers, and to generate reports and templates to meet these needs in a direct and easy to use way. In addition, this position will be assisting faculty Principal Investigators with monitoring and reporting on $20+ million in research budgets.
Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated knowledge and 2-5 years experience in working with data and systems. Basic programming skills to allow for combining data from multiple sources and generating reports. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal abilities and the ability to listen to and incorporate faculty feedback in systems. Strong customer service orientation.
Experience in maintaining confidential materials. Very strong computer skills including thorough familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software applications.
