Manage the domestic and international admissions processes and monitor awards budget for graduate student services in the College of Science. Review international student financial documentation and follow proper visa guidelines for Certificate of Eligibility. Evaluate, approve, prepare and disseminate all types of award contracts to COS students. Advise prospective and current international students, faculty and staff on academic and administrative policies and procedures as they relate to international students. Automate COS processes via technology. Enhance, develop, and maintain COS systems including database programming/upgrades, on-line admissions application maintenance including AY, and CONNECT, and Blackboard site (design tools, editing, maintenance, etc. – HTML). Will be responsible for ensuring efficient student-centered admissions direction and support for prospective students. Will handle all graduate admission inquiries to the College from admissions committees (faculty) and staff regarding prospective graduate students. Must inform potential graduate students of relevant admissions policies and ensure that they understand the process. Assist in creating, maintaining and updating a procedures manual for the COS academic departments on Blackboard and calendars on SharePoint and Outlook. Act as college liaison to and between offices campus-wide including academic departments, Enrollment Management, Graduate Student Financial Services and the International Student & Scholar Institute serving as representative on designated College and University committees. Includes day-to-day administration of admissions and student services; awards budget planning, reporting, and review.
Bachelor’s degree and two to five years of college administration and/or supervisory experience required. Experience in recruitment and graduate student services required. Experience with graduate programs and awards preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Experience with design tools and HTML preferred. Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, management skills, leadership skills, vision, and ability to keep multiple priorities in focus in and in progress. Must have a strong ability to interact with and guide faculty through processes and policies. Must have experience working independently and as a member of a team. Experience with one or more of the admissions databases and computer programs including AY, CONNECT, Blackboard, SharePoint, etc. Some travel and weekend work is required to attend and represent the College at Admission Open Houses and PhD Yield Events. Finally, the Graduate Programs Coordinator must be technologically savvy, willing to embrace new technology, be flexible, and be committed to providing all stakeholders with the highest quality customer service experience, have the highest standards of ethical conduct, and be committed to diversity.
