Digital Repository Manager

The Digital Repository Manager is responsible for the management and support of Northeastern’s Digital Repository Service (DRS). Working with the Associate Dean for Digital Strategies and Services, the Director of the Digital Scholarship Group, and the Head of Library Technology Services, the Repository Manager guides the development of new functionalities and services based upon the DRS. The Repository Manager coordinates with other library units to develop workflows and standards for digitization projects.
Provide the minimum level of qualifications required for an employee to succeed in this specific job.
•ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree and demonstrated experience working in an academic library
•3-5 years of experience with digital libraries
•Strong working knowledge of XML/XSLT technologies
•Demonstrated ability to plan, initiate, and implement effective programs, projects, and services
•Demonstrated understanding of digital library standards (METS, FOXML, etc.), data format standards (TEI, EAD, media formats, etc.) and semantic web technologies.
•Strong working knowledge of key metadata concepts and languages as applied to descriptive, technical, rights, and preservation applications.
•Experience with Fedora based repository systems
•Awareness of current issues in scholarly communications and digital scholarship
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to work collaboratively with faculty on scholarly projects and to lead teams of library colleagues
•Experience with one or more scripting languages (PHP, Perl, etc.)
