Northeastern University

Associate/Full Professor

Requisition Number: FTFR000228

Division/College: Bouve College of Health Sciences

FT/PT: Full Time

Position Summary:
The Department of Counseling and Applied Educational Psychology, in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences of Northeastern University, invites applications for two full-time senior level tenure-track or tenured faculty positions. We are seeking applications for a Counseling, Clinical, or School Psychologist at the rank of Full Professor and also a Counseling Psychologist at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Both are academic year, benefits-eligible positions in the Department of Counseling and Applied Educational Psychology.
In addition to the teaching and service responsibilities for all faculty, each position involves developing a strong research agenda and maintaining a strong, funded program of research. We seek candidates who can provide leadership toward the ambitious academic and research agenda of the department and the university. Candidates with programmatic funded research in health or mental health and with a track-record of interdisciplinary research are especially welcome to apply. Salary will be commensurate with education, training, and experience and includes an outstanding benefits package. The start date for either position is August, 2013.

Qualifications:
The required qualifications include a doctorate in counseling psychology, clinical psychology or school psychology or a closely related field; a record of external funding; demonstrated academic leadership, effective administrative, and interpersonal skills; Massachusetts license or license-ability as a counseling psychologist and documented teaching effectiveness.

Additional Information:
The Department offers graduate-level programs in counseling psychology, school psychology, school counseling, college student development, and early intervention, including PhD programs in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. The emphasis is on an ecological perspective that is culturally sensitive and responsive within a health and mental health context. The programs are described in greater detail at http://www.northeastern.edu/bouve/caep/index.html. Each of these programs is well connected to health centers, school systems, and community agencies in the Boston metropolitan area.

The Bouvé College of Health Sciences has 189 faculty members, and approximately 2,100 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students. It is a leading national model for professional education and research in the health, psychosocial and biomedical sciences and supports the University’s mission of educating students for a life of fulfillment and accomplishment and creating and translating knowledge to meet global and societal needs. Applications must be submitted online by visiting the College website at
