The Associate Director will work within the University Scholars Program and the Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships.
In conjunction with the Program Director and Faculty Fellows, the Associate Director will assist in the management of the Northeastern University Scholars Program (NUSP), a selective scholarship program for high-achieving students. The Associate Director will have a significant role in creating and implementing NUSP initiatives that move students through a comprehensive 4-5 year undergraduate experience. Working with the Office of Admissions, the Associate Director will assist in planning, organizing and implementing the recruitment and admissions process for the Northeastern University Scholars Program (NUSP). The Associate Director will manage the University Scholars website. Other responsibilities revolve around providing comprehensive advising services for NUSP students and the promotion of undergraduate enrichment opportunities, such as internal and external grants, encouragement of study abroad, facilitation of civic engagement, and organizing events and discussions.
The Associate Director will work within the Office of Fellowships to identify, encourage, and advise undergraduates across all disciplines, particularly first and second year students, on a wide range of domestic and international fellowship competitions. Duties will also include coordinating communication around the application process, as well as the management of the collection and submission of application materials.
The Associate Director should feel comfortable working in a creative, student-centered, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
MA/MS degree in related field required, Ph.D. preferred. 6 – 8 years of experience advising in peer institution and/ or teaching. Experience in Microsoft Office & Word Press. Knowledge of and success in nationally competitive scholarship process. Strong writing and editing skills.
